Big Woods opens first Hamilton County location

Big Woods Hazel Dell will offer Big Woods’ pizza and pub fare, along with Hard Truth Distilling Co. spirits and Quaff ON! Brewing Co. beer

Noblesville, Ind. – Big Woods Restaurant Group is set to open the doors of its seventh location, Big Woods Hazel Dell, at 14741 Hazel Dell Crossing in Noblesville. The new 7,700-square-foot location will officially open to the public Feb. 17.

Centrally located among Carmel, Westfield, Fishers and Noblesville, this is Big Woods Restaurant Group’s first expansion into the north side of the Indianapolis area. This year, all seven Big Woods restaurants are expected to serve a total of 1 million guests.

The restaurant will provide seating for approximately 250 guests — including 40 patio spots — and two private rooms for party rentals. Visitors will have access to both a 21+ bar area and family-friendly booth and table seating.

“We’ve continued to see increased demand throughout the state of Indiana for our restaurants,” said Co-founder and Executive Chairman Jeff McCabe. “With our first opening in Hamilton County, we hope to make the drive a little shorter for some of our existing fans while also attracting new customers.”

The new family restaurant will offer up an updated version of Big Woods’ popular pizza and pub menu, with classic favorites like pulled pork BBQ nachos and brewer’s wings, as well as updated and new items like the “Candied Bacon Bomb” burger featuring a hand-pressed ground beef patty, house-candied bacon, caramelized onions, garlic aioli, arugula and a balsamic glaze.

“I truly am excited to bring our guests this new menu,” said Executive Chef Patrick Matthews. “We put a lot of thought and effort into ensuring our guest have the best possible experience.”

Other new dishes include a vegan Thai red curry, a “Meatball Meltdown” pizza, a maple bourbon chicken sandwich and a fried biscuit dessert in homage to Big Woods’ hometown of Nashville, Ind.

A full slate of adult beverages from Big Woods’ Brown County-based sister companies, Quaff ON! Brewing Co. and Hard Truth Distilling Co., will accompany the updated menu. Big Woods Hazel Dell will be the first of the Big Woods Restaurants to launch the updated menu, and the Bloomington, Franklin and Speedway Big Woods locations will follow suit over the next several months.

Company-wide, Big Woods Restaurants has more than 400 employees, and the new Noblesville restaurant is expected to increase that number by 80.

Big Woods restaurants sold more than 100,000 pizzas and 70,000 pulled pork nachos in 2019, and they expect those numbers to increase rapidly as they attract new guests to the Hamilton County location.
